      For those who feel a truck has to be set to one type of persona, this takes those pre conceived notions and throws them out the door. While this vehicle has many similarities to its cousin the pre 2011 Ford Ranger, it feels like you are driving a SUV. And you don’t need to be a macho man or woman to own a truck anymore. It’s almost a gender neutral version of utility. Very practical, has masculine exterior but inside it has a practical sense to it. For a parent of a toddler, it had better room then the new Ranger or the Santa Cruz. My wife enjoys driving it, not feeling overwhelmed after having a F-150. Gas mileage is decent, averaging 25 mpg on the 2.0 turbo engine. The bed is another thing, I feel I can haul what I want, it’s so clever and it’s also super customizable. 2 thumbs up from this Gen X dude who has owned a F-150 and Chevy Avalanche.

      I ordered a new ford maverick 11 months ago and ford has kept me in the dark the whole time. Ford just keeps delaying delivery. I can’t find out when I may get my vehicle or how much it will cost. Fords ordering system is the worst thing I have ever seen. They do offer an online tracker, but it is completely useless.

      I ordered my Mav Hybrid a week after announce simply on the premise of a new $20K hybrid vehicle. For $100 deposit not much to lose. 5 months later ours arrived. Exceeds expectations: Beautiful design, perfect size, drives fantastic, comfortable on long trips, great visibilty, and its QUIET. (I call it the anti-Honda). Most importantly, over 7500 miles I've averaged 45mpg. The simplicity of the design is its strength. (The only reason we did not order the most basic version was we wanted cruise control). I was really excited to see the stripped down electronics and automation. Buttons and knobs (and keys) control most everything! The only thing you have to move eye focus to is the touch screen radio--unless you have your phone connected and can just use CarPlay to do everything. Ford has a real breakthrough in the Hybrid system design on the Mav (their first in-house). Its really quiet and it will go miles on all electric. Big smile when you run a quick errand and get 150 or 200mpg! And of course you can park it easily and anywhere (hide all your stuff in the hidden under back seat compartment. If you want to do something to be environmentally responsible, this is a very "minimalist" option that let's you walk the walk.
